"Humanitarianism, equity and social responsibility are Mya's central focuses when navigating the beautifully complex world around her. With a profusion of intersectional identities (African- American, Female,  onward), Mya has always been able to recognize that the world can be an unfair and unforgiving place. It is for these reasons she dedicates her
personal and professional life to promoting the greater good through political work and social activism. Mya said that she is thrilled to be apart of the Young Women's Commission because it's goals align perfectly with her own moral compass and it gives opportunities to young women, such as herself, to get deeper involved in creating equitable
